Your Beginning to End Guide Through a Marketing Funnel That Leads to Sales
What’s a Marketing Funnel and why do you need it?
There are a ton of Marketing Funnels out there if you’ve ever googled it. Or maybe you’ve never googled that term...might just be me.
You might be thinking:
What the heck are they?
How can they help me gain clients?
Let’s dive into this so you see the big picture and then understand tactics to apply and make your own profitable Marketing Funnel.
We’ll provide examples of how you can take 1 idea and funnel a potential client from the top all the way through to the bottom and make that sale!
Here’s an image of a full Marketing Funnel. This is to help us visualize your Client or Customers Journey.
Marketing funnels map routes from the initial stages when someone learns about your business all the way to sales.
Successful Marketing Strategies work best when this Marketing Funnel is being used as a whole.
1. Let’s take a look at AWARENESS.
This is the very top of your Marketing Funnel.
Your goal here is to capture the widest audience you can.
Using your knowledge of problems a potential client might be having, cast a wide net to facilitate awareness of your brand, product or service.
Here are just some tactics to use when pulling in potential clients:
SEO (Search Engine Optimization)
E-Books
Digital Ads
Videos (YouTube)
Social Media
Blogs
Podcasts
Infographics
Direct Email
Trade Shows
2. Now we will focus on INTEREST & ENGAGEMENT.
Now that you have an audience who is aware of your brand, the next phase is to engage with them and educate them to grow their interest in your brand, product or service. The audience count shrinks but the quality of the potential clients is growing.
Here are just some tactics to use when engaging with potential clients:
Webinars
Virtual Events
Case Studies
Videos (YouTube)
Drip Email Campaigns
Social Media
Private Facebook Groups
Slack Groups
Free Trials
Now your potential client moves into the CONSIDERATION phase.
Now that you have an audience that has shown interest in your brand through active engagement, it's time to give them easy ways to consider hiring your company or buying your product.
Here are just some tactics to use when you almost have that new clients:
Free Trials,
Live or Recorded Demonstrations,
Membership,
Case Studies
Finally we hit ACTION!
Success! The Customer/Client took action and committed to hiring your company or buying your product.
Now, how does this all work in the real world?
I think examples are the best way to show this.
EXAMPLE 1:
You are a Yoga Instructor that has created a 3 Part Prenatal Yoga Video Series.
You blog (AWARENESS) about the importance of understanding your body as you go through different stages of pregnancy, then link to a landing page with your video series with an email opt-in, letting you build your email list.
You then host a live webinar (INTEREST & ENGAGEMENT) marketing to your opt-in list from above, amongst other methods, inviting them to a 30 minute live prenatal yoga webinar training and Q&A. After the event you invite them to join your private Facebook Group (CONSIDERATION) for further information.
In the private facebook group you launch a month long Prenatal Yoga Challenge for $697, and provide a discount code for your private group to receive it for just $369. ACTION!
EXAMPLE 2:
You are a Career Coach that has an e-book on the Top 6 Secrets Every Entrepreneur Needs to Succeed.
You put together a social media campaign promoting your free e-book with an email opt-in (AWARENESS)
You then host a live webinar (INTEREST & ENGAGEMENT) where you teach these 6 secrets. During the live webinar you invite them to join your free 2-day challenge (CONSIDERATION).
In this challenge you upsell them into a 6-month career coaching package ACTION!
Each piece of the funnel works together to pull your potential client’s purchase journey through to the end.
You can choose any combination of each funnel component but be sure to have the end goal in mind. That end goal is what you want your potential client to purchase.
